Love Your Neighbour Project Day - Women's Ministry

We are excited to be partnering with Besom again to help those in need across the city.

As a church community, going out into the community, we will be spending the project days gardening and decorating (and maybe more) for those in York who could do with a bit of extra help.

Come as a Belfrey Group or we'll put together teams of individuals and smaller groups to "Love York" in practical ways.

Our women's project day is for women only as we'll be helping with some specific projects for vulnerable women.

Senior's Social

Senior's Social

We are looking forward to our next event which is a visit to Tropical World in Leeds on Tuesday 20th May followed by lunch. This is a chance to visit ‘another world’, home to loads of exciting and exotic animals, seen as you wander through the rainforest, the aquarium and the desert house.

We ask that people meet at Tropical world at 10.15am, which should give people time to travel from York and park. Any lifts needed then we will try and accommodate, so please email Pam Lydiate, pam@belfrey.org. Tropical World is at Princes Avenue, Roundhay, Leeds, LS8 2ER, Tel: 0113 535 2132

Free parking is available close by (Old Park Road and Lidgett Park Road but do check when parking) and just a short walk to Tropical World. Disabled parking is available on Princes Avenue just outside the entrance to Tropical World. Finally, paid parking is also available.

We don't need to pre-book as you can pay on the day at a cost of £9. Any carers go free with an ID. Also, there is one electric scooter for hire if anyone needs it. The walk through of the venue takes about 40mins - 1 hour and there is an opportunity for a tea stop at the cafe halfway round.

Lunch will be at the Lakeside Cafe in Roundhay Park at about 12noon, which is very close by and has its own car park.

Looking forward, we have our annual afternoon tea at the Baynes in Dunnington, Saturday 21st June, and the July event is most likely to be cancelled as I am away on a mission trip.

Dating 101: Student Day Conference

Join us for a day of honest teaching and real conversations about dating and relationships: What makes them godly, healthy and good.

In the morning, we'll unpack the biblical vision for dating and relationships: where it comes from, what it looks like, and why it matters.

Then in the afternoon, we'll hear from a brilliant panel of church family as we walk through a relationship timeline — from that first spark of interest to the possibility of forever. Bring your questions as we explore how to navigate each stage with wisdom, care, and faith.

Open to students across York, you don't need to be a Belfrey student to book on!

Alpha

Running for 10 weeks starting on Wednesday 30th April, we are excited to be running a new Alpha course this summer term, this time in the afternoons. Aimed at those who might struggle with evenings, such as those who are retired, students or parents who find childcare difficult, this course will run each week from 1:30pm until around 2:30pm.

Alpha is a series of conversations that looks into questions of life, faith and God. Each week you’ll join an in person group and watch a 25 minute video on various topics exploring the Christian faith, then afterwards chat with others and have honest and open discussions. Topics can vary from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Contact claire.elwood@belfrey.org for more information or to express your interest in joining.

Women's Brunch

Join the Women's Ministry for a morning of community, worship, testimonies, and pastries as we hear about knowing and using our God-given voices.
As we gather together, Hayley Baker will spend some time sharing more about the theme for this year. Members of our congregation have also been invited to share their testimonies about how God has spoken into their stories and called them to use their voices. This will be an amazing opportunity to hear about what God is doing within our community, so please join us.

We want to make sure everyone who wants to can join us so if money is a problem, please do contact the women's team via email (women@belfrey.org) or talk to one of the team and we can sort a free ticket.
