Belfrey 65+ (renamed) warmly invites you to join us for an outing to Wydale Hall on Saturday 27 June.

We will arrive to welcome refreshments between 10. 30 –11am (the venue has asked that we please don't arrive before this time), followed by a talk from our visiting speaker at around 11am. A light lunch will be served afterwards.

Our organised time together will finish at about 2pm, after which you are welcome to explore the gardens, book your own afternoon refreshments, or make your way home. The venue is booked until 3pm.

The cost of the outing is £32, payable via the link below. If the cost would make it difficult for you to join us, please do reach out. We'd be very glad to help.

Parking is available onsite. Further information about the facilities and gardens can be found on the Wydale Hall website.

Come and join us as we visit The Arboretum, where we will immerse ourselves in the stunning landscape, around Castle Howard, of parkland, lakes and ponds followed by a stop at the Arboretum's café to partake in seasonal, home-cooked food.

There's a variety of additional extras which, depending on demand, we'll add on and take payment at a later date.

Chris & Martin warmly invite you to come to their home, Harlequin House, Church Balk, Dunnington, YO19 5LH for afternoon tea. We will be enjoying each other's company, partaking in lots of cake whilst relaxing in their beautiful house and garden. Please try and car share if you can and if you need a lift then let us (Pam@Belfrey.org) know and we will try and match you up with someone coming.

We are looking forward to our next event which is a visit to Tropical World in Leeds on Tuesday 20th May followed by lunch. This is a chance to visit ‘another world’, home to loads of exciting and exotic animals, seen as you wander through the rainforest, the aquarium and the desert house.

Free parking is available close by (Old Park Road and Lidgett Park Road but do check when parking) and just a short walk to Tropical World. Disabled parking is available on Princes Avenue just outside the entrance to Tropical World. Finally, paid parking is also available. 

We don't need to pre-book as you can pay on the day at a cost of £9. Any carers go free with an ID. Also, there is one electric scooter for hire if anyone needs it. The walk through of the venue takes about 40mins - 1 hour and there is an opportunity for a tea stop at the cafe halfway round. 

Lunch will be at the Lakeside Cafe in Roundhay Park at about 12noon, which is very close by and has its own car park. 

Looking forward, we have our annual afternoon tea at the Baynes in Dunnington, Saturday 21st June, and the July event is most likely to be cancelled as I am away on a mission trip. 

This event presents an opportunity to listen to and engage in asking questions from our invited guests, who are distinguished for their knowledge, articulate communication, and Christian perspectives, as they address and provide insights on various challenging and contemporary topics. Tea & coffee will be provided from 1.30pm, sharing alongside people from the Wednesday lunchtime service, before we move into the Ballroom for 1.45pm.

Come and join us for a time together to meet with God and through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to Him.

We invite you to join us for an insightful presentation on the Church's vision for 2025. Our Clergy team will share what is going on in the church and their plans and aspirations for the future. This is a wonderful opportunity to understand the direction in which our Church is heading and how we can contribute. Come and engage and be part of the conversation. Tea & coffee will be provided from 1.30pm, sharing alongside people from the Wednesday lunchtime service, before we move into the Ballroom for 1.45pm.

We are excited this year to be heading to the Waterfront Restaurant, Naburn Marina, for our festive gathering.

On Thursday 5 December it would be lovely to have you join us at 12 noon (no earlier please if you can) for a welcome drink, with the two course Christmas meal served at 12.30 pm (the bar will be open for you to buy your own drinks). There are various meal options, please see the menu below, where you can choose from a starter, main and dessert. The price is £30pp and please let us know if you have any food allergies.

Our Belfrey Seniors' events this year will start with an afternoon tea at Harlequin House in Dunnington. 

Come from 2pm until 4pm and enjoy the hospitality and beautiful garden of Chris and Martin Bayne. The Bayne's live at Harlequin House, Church Balk, Dunnington, York, YO19 5LH and have parking for a number of cars.

Christmas 2023 is almost here and Debs Stephens and the Belfrey Seniors' are excited to invite you to their Christmas event.

On Friday 1st December the De Grey Rooms will host the Belfrey Seniors' annual Christmas event from 11am. 

There will be lights, music, a light lunch, carol singing, Christmas quiz, creative activities and a Christmas reflection. 

Please let Debs know by emailing her at debbie.stephens@belfrey.org.  There will be a cost of about £20 but this be will be confirmed. 

Once you have booked your place more details will be sent regarding timings and cost. 

Join the senior’s and 9am worship team for an afternoon of worship with refreshments provided. The event will be in Belfrey Hall (52A Stonegate).

If you can make it let me know by August 10th, at the latest, as I can get a group discount. 

However, admission to Lotherton is free for members of the Leeds Art Fund, Friends of Leeds City Museums, the Museums Association, the National Arts Collection Fund, and Yorkshire’s Great Houses Castles and Garden card holders.

Together with York Age UK we will consider such things as powers of attorney, financial support and being aware of scammers. Come from 1.45pm for tea and coffee ready to engage with what could help you future proof your finances.

The Seniors are meeting in St Michael le Belfrey for an afternoon of extended worship together from 1pm.

There will be refreshments and cake served during the afternoon.

Come and join us on Wednesday 20 April at 2.30pm in the Belfrey Hall (52A Stonegate, York YO1 8AS, entrance next to Berry’s) where we will have a time of worship. Some of our amazing worship team will lead us in singing, sharing and just spending time in God's presence. Refreshments will be served. The event aims to finish by 4pm.
