Ministry Opportunities

Here at The Belfrey, we have lots of brilliant ministries for you to get involved with during your internship.

Operations

Operations Interns get to experience the behind-the-scenes hustle and bustle of running a large church. You'd be helping the Operations Manager and other members of the team with things like events, communications, administration, staff development and office management. If you're interested in learning about business or charities, have an eye for detail or a love of improving things then this may be the internship for you!

Pastoral

As a Pastoral Intern you would help with the administrative side of pastoral work, supporting the head of Pastoral Ministry in keeping in touch with recently bereaved families, those who are ill or house-bound and those who struggle with mental-health difficulties. You will also be involved in visiting the sick and housebound, helping to organise 'pastoral cafés' for those who are struggling and the running of our Kintsugi Hope Groups.

Creativity

As part of the Creative Media team you’ll be involved in creating a range of media and content to be used across the church. This might include capturing and editing photos and videos on Sundays and at events, creating content to be used on social media and our website, designing printed promotional material and a lot more!

Evangelism

As an Evangelism Intern at The Belfrey you'll be working with our outreach and evangelism team. You will learn about evangelism techniques and how to talk to people of different faiths and none. This will be put into practice by regularly working with our outreach and evangelism teams as they put on Alpha courses, serve on our Belfrey Doors team as they open the Church building midweek for tourists and visitors, or work outside with the chalk-boards engaging with people in the big questions of life.

Children and Families

As a member of the Children and Families team you will be involved with a number activities; from teaching in midweek and Sunday groups, to action songs and all age worship! Your week might include organising silly games for an after school club in a primary school, singing songs with toddlers or playing football at a children's outreach club.

Students

Student Ministry is an exciting, up and coming area of Church ministry that helps students make the transition from home to university life, equipping them to be lifelong disciples of Jesus. Our interns are involved in connecting students into the wider church, running evangelistic events, and walking alongside people through the ups and downs of university life. We'd love to have you serve with us!

Prayer

Our House of Prayer is a place dedicated to a weekly rhythm of prayer and worship to the Lord. Internships at the HoP are designed to equip and grow you as a servant in love with Jesus and as intercessors, worshippers and prophets for the growing worship, prayer, and mission movement throughout the globe. Through corporate prayer and worship meetings, teaching, mentoring, and practical ministry experience you will learn to sit at the feet of Jesus, to behold Him, listen to Him and be transformed.

Tech

The role of tech is to enable, support and facilitate the church through sound, visuals and lighting. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all of these areas as well as the chance to train and organise our tech volunteers and work closely with the worship and media team.

Youth

We have an ever-growing vibrant youth ministry at The Belfrey. Being a Youth Intern would give you many opportunities within both the discipleship and evangelism areas of our work with 11-18 year olds. From Bible study groups, to mentoring, to youth services, to schools ministry and outreach groups, we would love to see you grow in your giftings as you walk alongside our young people throughout the year. This internship is a brilliant chance for you to grow in teaching, communication and relational youth work, and also to have a lot of fun!

Worship

As a member of the Worship team, you will be involved with leading worship on a Sunday, learning to grow as both a worshipper and a worship leader. Your internship might involve preparing for Sundays and other small group meetings, supporting team members as part of a worshipping community, and learning how to lead worship in a variety of contexts.

Social Action

Are you passionate about how the church can support people who are struggling, and about making a difference in your local community? Come and join the Social Action Team as we pioneer our Belfrey CAP Debt Centre, and start other new projects to support people experiencing poverty, mental health difficulties or who are in vulnerable situations. We’d love to chat more with you about any particular areas of social action you are interested in, and help you explore where God is calling you to serve.

Impact

Our ‘Impact Project’ is all about the repairing and reordering of St Michael le Belfrey church and is an incredible and unique opportunity at The Belfrey. Impact interns would help with administrative tasks, learn from the Project Manager by job shadowing and assist the team in the research for Stage 4 Technical Design. You will be involved in communicating to the wider Church family through social media, and generally support the team to enable the project to continue to develop. More information on the Impact Internship Job Description and Personal Specification are available on request.
