We’ve moved into our temporary home at The De Grey Rooms while the construction phase of Impact takes place

FAQ

  • Head to the big gates which lead to a carpark, where the Welcome Team will greet you. A few metres ahead of you is our Accessible Entrance, which leads you directly to a platform lift. Once inside, hold down the button for Floor 1 until the lift stops.

  • While we’re at the De Grey Rooms wedding and funerals will be held at St Olave’s on Marygate. This is a beautiful church just a 5 minute walk away. The De Grey Rooms Ballroom is available to book for receptions afterward - contact us at hello@belfrey.org.

  • Yes! You can still reach us at 01904 624 190 Monday to Friday.

  • If you’re at a service or event in the Ballroom, stay calm and follow the directions of the fire wardens or service leader to exit the building. Turn left or right on the street and move away from the building. If you’re in a meeting somewhere else in the building, leave the same way you came in, turn right and gather outside Ashtons estate agents. We have an evacuation chair for those requiring an accessible exit down the stairs.

  • For the next few months 9am Coffee will stay at the Hall. We’re exploring a few venues which are closer to DGR, and will see if there’s a way we can have it there in the future - it’s a bit tricky to safely balance the numbers when the 11am congregation starts arriving. We know it would be really special if possible!

  • To be honest, only just! This is an opportunity for creativity, which we love to encourage and make the most of. At our busiest time of the years - around October, when students are back in town - we will overflow into the Belfrey Hall and stream the service live when we need to. The Welcome Team will let you know if you need to head over there when you arrive at DGR - we recommend arriving before 6pm if you’d really like to be in the Ballroom!

  • In Belfrey tradition, we’ll still have our big open-invite Carol Service at York Minster each December. For services like Christmas Day and Easter Day we’re planning to run extra services in the De Grey Rooms, which you’ll be able to book a seat for in advance so that everyone gets a chance to worship.
