Dear Church Family
It's been great to welcome our new Forge interns this week as they've begun their ten months with us. We have a good team of 14 this year. Please be praying for them as they settle in.
We also had the honour to welcome Randy Clark to our church on Monday. He spoke to leaders in the afternoon and then at a celebration service in the evening on healing and did so with humility and grace. There were a good number of people who attested to being healed in the evening, many after the sharing of a word of knowledge. Healing is one of the key signs of the kingdom of God and I am praying that we see many more healings in the coming months and years at The Belfrey.
This Sunday is Gift Day in church. We'd love to use money received to support a number of key mission projects in York and the North, to give generously to our Diocese and also to fund a few items in church life not included in the day-to-day budget. We are seek to raise at least £40,000. As I said in my sermons last Sunday, please do ask the Lord what he is asking you to give. Do take some time over this so you feel content and cheerful about what you're giving. If we do that I'm sure we'll reach the figure of at least £40,000 that we're praying for. You can find out more about Gift Day by clicking here.
Finally, may I urge us all to be expectant of encounters with Jesus in the coming season. He wants to immerse us in his Spirit in fresh ways and particularly wants to meet with women and men who've never encountered him before. So let's be praying for all sorts of God-encounters in this season.
