Dear Church Family
On this Friday before Christmas my prayer for each one of us is that we'd know the presence of Christ - Emmanuel (God with us) - in our hearts and homes. How wonderful it is to discover that God has not left us alone but come to us, revealed himself to us and shown us his glory, in Jesus Christ. Whether we're in York or elsewhere with family or friends, his presence makes all the difference. His presence is the answer to the longing of our hearts.
May I urge each one of us to stay thankful and prayerful over Christmas, pointing those around us to Jesus. We all have friends, family and loved one who are searching and Christmas is a season when many are open to his presence. Be attentive to the opportunities that will come your way.
Finally, both now and in the coming weeks there are lots of ways you can know God's presence even more and be resourced as a follower of Jesus. At the end of this message are links to various resources that will help you. Do take a look and be equipped.
With love to you and your family this Christmas, and have a happy New Year.
