Dear Church Family,
I hope that you have had a fantastic week and that those of you who have had a lighter week due to half term have had some rest.
It is now less than five weeks until Ellie and I have our final Sunday at The Belfrey. We have loved our five and half years serving you all here in York. It has been a wonderful time of seeing God move. We have loved seeing many, many people come into relationship with Jesus Christ and be baptised. It has been a privilege to walk with many of you as we have followed Jesus together. Thank you all for all your support, love and encouragement over the past few years, it has meant so much to us.
The Belfrey is a very special family with a rich heritage and a very bright future. Thank you for letting us play our part in the story that Jesus is writing at The Belfrey.
Newcastle Church Plant
Please do continue to pray for the Resource Church plant in Newcastle. Ellie and I are so excited about what God is already doing in Newcastle and what he will do through the church that will launch in Autumn 2019.
Many of you will have heard from myself or seen on the news, that we have decided not to continue looking at All Saints on the Quayside as the home for the Resource Church. Despite having positive conversations with key stakeholders in the building such as the City Council, Historic England and the Georgian Group, it became clear that too many compromises were going to have to be made to meet the requirements to both open All Saints as the home for the resource church and to meet the conservation needs.
We are excited about this decision and are exploring other exciting options in the city centre which could be the physical base of the resource church.
Everything else remains on course and this is a great reminder that the church is actually people, values and vision. We have some fantastic people moving with us from The Belfrey, have clear values and an exciting large vision to see the revitalisation of the city centre of Newcastle and to plant many more churches.
Lots of you have been praying for the right Vicarage for Ellie and I - thank you so much for that. Just a couple of days ago we saw our future home which is in central Newcastle and we are excited to move there in January once some work has been done to the property. There is plenty of space for visitors, do come and say hello!
For those of you that are signed up to our e-mail list you should have had an e-mail about our Church Family Day on Sunday the 25th November. If you haven't, please get in touch with the office. We will have lunch together, worship together and have a hog roast. We hope that many of you can come! Full details can be found by logging in to Church Suite.
On Sunday 11th November at The 6 Gav Calver will be speaking to us. Bring a friend, you won't want to miss it! More details can be found here.
I hope that you have a great weekend. Thanks for being our church family.
With much love,
Ben and Ellie x
