Every Thursday at 5.30pm in the Belfrey Hall a delicious hot meal is served up to our guests. Our visitors are the homeless and marginalised of York and those who are struggling for a variety of reasons.
Sitting and eating with them are people from our volunteer team. We are looking for some more volunteers to come at around 5pm to eat with our guests and listen to their stories. We would then value help in putting everything away and cleaning the hall.
Alternatively, more background help is also needed in the kitchen washing up. Again a meal is provided so you wouldn’t have to go home to cook.
We are happy to welcome those who could not commit every week but would be able to contribute say once a month, or maybe those who could come during the summer when we lose our students.
Perhaps there is a Belfrey Group who might consider coming on a rota? Our aim is to be finished by 7.15pm.
If you can feel God stirring you up to love and serve those whose lives are very broken then please be in touch with Liz Ransford on 07525210572 or talk to Paul Myers or Mick Corringham for more information.
Are you looking for a new way to get involved in church life in 2019? Do you have some spare hours during the day on Mondays to Saturdays? Belfrey Doors needs you! Join a team of friendly volunteers who keep our church building open to visitors during the week. Maybe you could do this with some of your Belfrey Group?
Belfrey Doors is an exciting team to be part of, as we frequently see God impacting people’s lives in such tangible ways. We recently chatted to and prayed with a couple from Newcastle, who had been having a difficult time. They went away saying they’d been truly inspired, and that their perspective had changed after hearing about the hope that Christians have. They remain in touch with us via email - they are reading through some booklets we gave them, and are looking forward to attending our upcoming church plant in Newcastle!
