Mission Partner: Alison Ely
Alison Ely is a member of The Belfrey and was working as an engineer in York.
Since March 2013 she has been with Medair in Lebanon as part of their Syrian Crisis Response.
Medair is a Christian relief and recovery organisation. Their mission is to seek out the vulnerable people in crisis, who live in often difficult to access regions of the world. They are an NGO with internationally recruited staff who are motivated by their Christian faith to care for people in need. Their work is compassionate and practical, providing life-saving care and support that upholds the dignity and independence of each person regardless of race, religion or politics.
Alison is the Shelter Project Manager in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon where Medair are working with the ever increasing number of Syrian refugees who live in informal tented settlements. Medair distributes much needed shelter kits to families to improve the condition of their tents, and does small infrastructure projects to improve the condition of the settlement sites. Please check www.medair.org for more information, or find them on facebook and twitter!
If you’d like to support Alison by supporting Medair’s work, there are three things you can consider doing… pray, give, and go! Have a look at the website for more details!
