3 F's

We are a mixed aged group from many different backgrounds, we meet around food, build friendships and help each other to build our faith up. We plan to start September off with personal testimonies and looking at men and women of faith.

We also belong to Just Being cluster group were we often do out reach events and other social activities .

Bats in the Belfrey

A group for anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with God and enjoys fun, food and friendship.

Bible Study Group

The group is made up of people aged from mid 60s to 90 years old. It is a Bible Study Group and supports a missionary in Guinea Bissau.

Bishopthorpe, Acaster, South Bank, Woodthorpe Group

We meet in Bishopthorpe on Thursday evenings. We usually start with a glass of wine (or coffee) and, because we all have to get up for work, we always finish by 9.30 pm. We see one of our main functions as supporting each other in prayer through the challenges and joys of our lives and in our walk with the Lord.

Central Group

A mixed age group, which meet within a mile of York City Centre. Our main aim is to use the church shape- worship, discipleship and outreach- to reach out and build each other up. We also enjoy running social events. (Isaiah 54 V2-3).

Corn Exchange

We aim to follow the format of welcome, worship, study and application. Many of the members provide services in the community and we aim to nurture and support them in prayer and where appropriate by practical help. Most of our group are over 50.

We are a group of mixed ages (20s to 50s), couples and singles, and welcome anyone wishing to join a diverse discipleship group. Our aim is to learn from God and one another and to have a fun and varied time together, both in our meetings and at our social and outreach events - often based around food!

Dunnington Group

Encouraging and challenging each of us to be the fragrance of Christ wherever we are. Our meetings are a mixture of bible study, prayer, fun and fellowship and occasionally food or an outing! New members welcome.

An afternoon group, all presently retired, but definitely 'young at heart' with an international interest, who try to encourage, support and inspire one another in our walk with God. Do come and join us.

Family Food and Friendship Group

We are a group of mixed ages, singles and couples, at various stages of our faith journey. We eat together and then have prayer and bible study – we are currently looking at ‘What’s so amazing about Grace?

Groves Group

Belfrey Group started in September 2012 actively seeking new members from every background to help shape our direction. We meet each Thursday in the Groves for food, friendship and fellowship. As Christians, we're aiming to reach out to the local community in the Groves as much as we can and support local events given by local organisations such as York St John and Door 84.

Home Fellowship Group

We meet to encourage one another in our discipleship and personal witness – through bible study, prayer and fellowship (which includes social events eg Christmas dinner, Burns supper, BBQ's etc).

International Group

Never Give Up Belfrey Group

We meet together to help the homeless, vulnerable, disadvantaged. Reaching them through a meal on a Thursday afternoon, this then gives use the opportunity to talk about God and pray with people. In addition befriending and advising on local services.

Prayer for healing group

Anyone to come for prayer for healing, in strict confidence. Open to everyone from church or not.

Shipton and Area Belfrey Group

Geographically-based group aiming to our neighbours in the villages where we live - Shipton, Newton on Ouse, Wiggington and Yearsley.

The Acomb Small Group

We start with a meal, followed by studying the bible, chatting and praying together. We are a mix of ages and stages in our Christian life. Once a month we meet as a larger group – ‘Just Being’ with 3 other small groups, for outreach and social events.

The Barnabas Group

A fun group of mixed ages mainly 30-40 year olds exploring and growing in faith together. Christ centred with lots of laughter. New people are welcome.

What now?

Group members describe us as: "accessible"; "growing"; "open, friendly, honest"; "questioning"; "non-judgemental"; "being a work in progress"; "supporting each others' ministries and giftings" and "committed to learning about the things of God together". We are a large group but always open to new members as we break down into smaller groups when needed. Currently trialling Bible Study series called Lyfe.

Pretty eccentric. We are all over 40 and pretty groovy.
